HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Sisterhood ended 2014 on a positive note and we are beginning 2015 with great optimism. In December, we had a successful Hanukkah sale and heard that both the gift givers and recipients were thrilled. We also started out weekly yoga classes which are held in the ballroom on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM. It is taught by Gaby Weilmann, who is a certified yoga instructor. These classes will continue in January and beyond so please come and join us for some fun and healthy movement.
As we welcome in 2015, we are feverishly preparing for our next Sisterhood event, “Sisterhood Shabbat”. This year it will take place on January 17th. Sisterhood members will lead the entire service from the early morning service through musaf and beyond. If you have not already signed up for a part, please contact me at or Audrey Shepard. After the services, a delicious Kiddush lunch will be served.
In March, we celebrate the joyous holiday of Purim. Sisterhood prepares for Purim with our Purim Project, capably and tirelessly organized by Maris Blechner. Information about the Project will be distributed under separate cover. Sisterhood volunteers will meet on March 1st at 10:00 AM to assemble Shalach Manot (purim goodies) and will distribute them on Purim night, March 4th, after the Megillah reading. Come join us in helping make everybody’s Purim a happy one.
Also in March, we will celebrate the coming of Passover with our annual Women’s Seder. This event is a learning experience as well as a social one. It includes eating, drinking, reciting, dancing, singing and fun. It has been described as inspirational, educational and fun. Watch for more information related to this event and join us.
On April 26th, we will be traveling to an Outlet Mall for our yearly bargain hunting trip. We are usually successful and come home with bags full. Aside from the shopping, we get to know one another better and really have fun. See you then
We plan a surprise event on May 3rd and our end of the year event will take place on June 10th. Hold these dates.
