Below are the rules for our Mini Marathon:
- Advanced registration and payment required. No walk-ins.
- PLEASE BE PROMPT and arrive at 12:30 PM to sign in.
- You will receive a card with your starting table number and seat position.
- Playing begins when everyone is seated at their tables.
- Find your table and sit in your position. West opposite East, North to the right of East, South opposite North.
- Players are “mix and match” with all levels playing together.
- Scoring will be based on the number of games won, not card values.
- East will check off who won which games. Winning players will initial their score. Each player at the table writes their initials that their score is accurate.
- East takes the form to score tables after each round.
- The Director will keep time and announce 10 minutes to the round end.
- One hour will be allotted for each round (4 games).
- If players are still playing after time is called, the hand is forfeited with no winner.
- All tables start each round at the same time, so players must wait until the hour is up, even if they have 4 at a table.
- Play 4 games then move to the next table.
- Players rotate after each round as follows:
East: stays in place
West: moves up 2 tables
North: moves up 1 table
South: moves down 1 table
- Please be patient and quiet if you finish the round early.
- The next round begins when all tables have 4 players.
- Prizes awarded to players who have won the most games. 1st, 2nd, 3rd places (could be multiple winners.)
- Play is based on National Mah-Jongg League rules for play and no special tournament rules other than the way it is being scored.
- “Hand of the Day” (selected by the Director) – the first one who makes it gets a prize.
- Please refer any disputes to the director before play continues.
- If there is a question, raise your hand. We have a few people to answer questions.
NO SPECIAL TOURNAMENT RULES – PLAY AS YOU WOULD IN YOUR HOME – HAVE FUN AND ENJOY!!
Looking forward to seeing you on JANUARY 12TH!
