This is a three-Torah Shabbat, one of the rare times that happens, because in addition to the weekly portion, Mishpatim, it’s also Rosh Hodesh Adar. And since it’s Rosh Hodesh Adar, it’s time for the first of four special readings leading up to Pesah: Maftir Shekalim. It’s a good time to remember that our religious institutions need our support for upkeep!
Before getting to this week’s musical clues, I did a thing for our old friend, comedian and educator Joel Chasnoff, who has asked a wide variety of educators to share a brief video message about each Torah portion. Here’s my video drash on Mishpatim. I had fun writing a commentary for a comedian’s website!
These songs are connected to the Torah reading(s). How so? Click the links, read the parshiyot, and figure it out! Tune in to our online havdalah at 6:15 PM on my Zoom link for answers. I hope to see you then!
Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom, and as always good health,
