Shalom and welcome back after the lazy, crazy days of summer. We look forward to all of us working and socializing together. Please join our energetic and intelligent group of women of all ages who support our local, national, and international Jewish community and the community at large.
We are planning a busy year. Our first event will be our paid-up membership brunch on Sunday October 22nd at 10:00am. Our very own member Melanie Katz will speak about current educational issues and answer questions related to children and the New York City public schools.
Linda Liederman will be honored at our Torah Fund brunch on Sunday November 19th at 10:00am for her active leadership of and tireless participation in our Sisterhood. The Torah Fund, which is an integral part of Sisterhood and the National Women’s League of Conservative Judaism, allows us a direct avenue to support Conservative Judaism. The League is the largest synagogue based woman’s organization in the world.
We look forward to our second holiday bazaar in December. We are discussing different alternatives to our traditional Sisterhood Shabbat. We are planning to have our spiritually uplifting Woman’s Seder. Of course, we look forward to our annual Sisterhood and Men’s Club event. Your input will ensure events that are interesting and entertaining.
Our Sisterhood also runs the Trudy Barsky Gift Shop. This will be completely redesigned and restocked with new items that reflect the Jewish lifecycle and holiday themes.
Thank you to everyone who helped make Honey from the Heart a successful fundraiser.
We wish everyone a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year.
