I was so happy to see all of you in shul on the High Holidays and Festivals. The warmth & love that permeated our sanctuary truly embodies what our Congregation is all about…Community, Family, Spirituality, Harmony, Togetherness and Love.
As we begin the New Year, let us celebrate together in SONG & LAUGHTER. Our GALA CONCERT is right around the corner. SAVE THE DATE…Sunday, December 4th at 3pm…here at our Synagogue.
This concert is in honor of the union of Hollis Hills Bayside Jewish Center. As I have said before, I truly believe that this merger was bashert and I can’t wait for all of us to come together and experience this truly magical evening of music & laughter, celebrating this momentous event. We are now ONE family!
We have so many extremely talented & unique performers who will knock your socks off. Here is a sneak preview…
My dear friend, Hershel Fox, is one of the most beloved Jewish Artists of our time (in Humor & Song) and will take us on a true JOURNEY OF JOY. We will laugh until we cry…while he encapsulates us in a world of laughter and melody. He is an unbelievable talent and an incredible person & a cherished Cantor. His talent is UNIQUE and RARE!
I am also having many of MY VERY TALENTED CANTORIAL STUDENTS from the Academy for Jewish Religion (AJR) who will be performing some of their favorites. It will be a very eclectic array of musical selections…Israeli, Broadway, Opera, Pop, Cantorial, Yiddish, etc. I am so proud of them and they will take us on a musical journey.
We will also have the opportunity to experience the beautiful & SWEET voice of Michel Reshef, an up and coming Star. She was the Semi Finalist of the Israeli Idol Talent Show and has performed all around the world with the A-Capella group called VocalPeople. In Israel, she does many commercials and voice overs and is now launching her solo career.
Of course, Yours Truly will also take to the stage. Get ready for some fun!
Our very own and my good friend, Joan Waxgiser, who has been helping me run these concerts for many, many years, is our Chairperson.

Another reminder…Our YIDDISH CLASSES will take place on MONDAY, NOV. 7th and MONDAY, NOV. 14th, both at 8:00 PM in Menchel Hall at the Temple. Come and bring a friend…..and enjoy the uniqueness and delight of the Yiddish language.
